Anti-Wrinkle Injections: More does not mean better
July 14, 2017
Anti-wrinkle injections are a medical treatment used to help temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause lines and wrinkles. It is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment which helps to reduce the appearance of lines such as crow’s feet and frown lines.
Anti-wrinkle injections comes in “active units” of dry powder, typically 50 or 100, and is mixed with sterile saline solution. This will be done by the Clinician at your appointment and the overall volume is determined by the area to be treated.
At Candover we offer anti-wrinkle injections, which are injectable neuromodulators, meaning they block the nerve impulses which prevents the movement of the facial muscles that cause wrinkles. Each brand has a slightly different formulation of the same substance, but they both work in the same way.
Our Clinicians order individually for each patient and the dose depends on the area or body part and each patient’s desired effect. The overall cost of the treatment is determined by the total number of “active units” used.
Our experienced consultants will administer an appropriate dose to reduce wrinkles while still allowing natural expression. The results will be effective 24-48 hours after your treatment.
Anti-wrinkle injections area prescription-only medicine. As it is also injected it is highly recommended that you use a reputable practitioner who is suitably qualified and practises in a clean and safe, clinical environment. Our specialist cosmetic surgeons always perform anti-wrinkle treatments within a safe and strictly regulated NHS environment.
