Prominent Ear Correction
Ear Correction (Pinnaplasty / Otoplasty)
Pinnaplasty, also known as otoplasty, is the treatment or correction of prominent ears due to their size or shape. Ears that stick out can be uncomfortable and cause embarrassment. Having the ears resized or re-positioned/pinned back can boost self-esteem in both children and adults. Pinnaplasty surgery takes approximately one hour. An incision is made at the back of the ear and the cartilage will be reshaped or remodeled into a less protruding shape. The procedure can be performed under either general or local anaesthetic.
